Things to eat

The condo kitchen is equipped for cooking with high quality pots, pans, knives, small appliances and cookware. There’s also a gas grill on the patio.

Sunriver has a great selection of dining options.  Our favorites:

Breakfast & Coffee

  • The Backyard Cafe and Bar at the lodge is a quick walk for breakfast sandwiches or  breakfast burritos. If it’s warm enough, you can eat outside on the lower patio by the golf course.
  • Brewed Awakenings has baked goods and coffee. Indoor/outdoor seating and a drive-through window.
  • Starbucks – the real thing! (not another company serving Starbucks)
  • Hot Lava Baking Company has baked goods and coffee. Be prepared for a line – it’s really popular.
  • The Sunriver Country Store has great coffee, breakfast sandwiches and burritos in the deli.
  • If you ask any of the locals where they go for breakfast, they’ll unanimously tell you the La Pine Truck Stop (aka Gordy’s). It’s a 20 minute drive from Sunriver – be prepared for unicorn art paired with delicious, ridiculous quantities of diner style breakfast food.

Lunch

  • Our favorite lunch is customized sandwiches and wraps from the deli at the grocery store in the village – $5.49 for just about any combo.
  • Cafe Sintra has fancier sandwiches – only open for breakfast and lunch.

Dinner

  • Blondies has amazing pizza. They deliver, and are located just outside the village if you want to pick it up.
  • Marcello’s Italian Restaurant is next to Cafe Sintra across Beaver Drive from the grocery store.  The decor is a little dated, but the food is fabulous.  We like to sit in the bar for a more laid back atmosphere.
  • El Caporal is a great Mexican restaurant in the village – very family friendly.  If you like margaritas, order “The Perfect.”
  • The Sunriver Brewing Company is an upscale pub – also very family friendly (train table inside!).  The food is delicious, and they’ve got quite a few local beers on tap (in addition to their own).  The wait can be long.
  • The Village Bar and Grill is a casual restaurant, particularly great for patio dining and watching games in the bar.
  • Hola! is upscale “nouveau Peruvian cuisine.” Great food and views of the river.
  • The Sunriver Lodge also has the Lodge Kitchen (fancy) and the Owl’s Nest (casual).

Dessert

  • Make s’mores on the grill. This works best with the fifth burner on the right hand side. You can also make s’mores at the lodge fire pit.
  • Get ice cream at Goody’s in the village.
